Facts about Smokey

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Kitten
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Smokey and his siblings, Coulee and Teche, were found in a BBQ pit as a result of the flood. Smokey loves to play with anything he can find to bat and swat about and pretty much pounces on everything that moves and that he can chase! He exerts all his energy via lots of horseplay with his two sisters but he also loves to watch tv – especially things like soccer and football – and will pat the screen and try and get in on the action. And anything you think he can’t get into or can’t hop up on, he can! He has long back legs like a jack rabbit and is an excellent jumper. And while he is usually the leader of the play pack, he can also chill and relax at the drop of a hat. He is a handsome dude who loves to have his head rubbed and literally goes into a coma when he stretches out for a nap. And that nap is oftentimes shared with a human on a couch or sometimes in someone’s lap. That’s if he’s not curled up catnapping with his sisters. Smokey can be both a pouncing powerhouse and also utterly zen when he wants to be. He’s quite a cool cat. Smokey's birthday is estimated as 7-18-16.

All of ours cats have been Feline leukemia and feline aids tested negative, spayed or neutered, vaccinated with FVRCP and FELV, rabies vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Smokey has an adoption fee of $75.

The first step to adopting any feline is to fill out an application at http://acadianaanimalaid.org/adopt/cat-adoption/application/
