Hi I'm Sqweezy! I love going on walks and being pet. I also love squeaky toys and meeting strangers. I also love chew toys like tracheas and pig ears.  I have a very loving, tender, cuddly personality. Be ready for lots of nuzzles!  I am very curious and relatively fearless when it comes to exploring. I am skittish of sudden loud noises. I am a stair master! I am very good motivated - chicken is my favorite!  I get along with just about everyone and everything - except squirrels and rabbits!  I would rather not be separated from my human at night. I sleep best in the same room as people and dogs. I need some guidance curbing my puppy curiosity - I've explored the counter once or twice and need someone to help me know where I can and can't go.

From her foster family: "She is the most affectionate dog I've ever met. She will nuzzle and lean on you if you pet her and give her attention. She will follow you from room to room. She does appear to be fairly dominate, so be prepared for resident dogs and Sqweezie to figure out a pecking order. She's not aggressive at all but she likes to be number 1!"

About Greyhound Pets of America - MN

About Our Rescue Group...

We are the Minnesota chapter of Greyhound Pets of America.

Greyhound Pets of America is a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation founded in 1987 for the purpose of finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds and educating the public on the suitability and availability of greyhounds as pets.

All of our greyhounds go into foster homes where they can acclimate to their new lives as retired racers. We also get a better idea of their personalities so we can make the best possible match with their new family.

We have found great success in matching the personalities of the greyhounds with the personalities of the new families. We test all our greyhounds to see if they can live with small animals and many of our greyhounds go on to live in families with other pets, including cats.

Greyhound Pets of America - Minnesota is run entirely by volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to the cause of rescuing retired greyhounds. GPA-MN and our volunteers are committed to making sure all our greyhounds have a happy, safe and long life while in our care as well as after they find their forever homes.

If you're planning to get a dog, we hope you will consider adopting one of our retired racers!
