Adopting A Shelter Dog

These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future.  Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog.  We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog.

This handsome boy is waiting for you

Barron is a thoughtful, fun loving German Shepherd dog who is looking for that special person, that special family to love. He is calm (for his age) gentle, affectionate and social dog who needs continued social opportunites to be the best adult dog he can be.  He will mature at about three but we feel he already is ahead of the curve and if you know German Shepherds , you will very much apprecaite this dog.  He has the safe, sane, attitude that gives him the great foundation of a terrific family dog prospect. We are looking for a person or family with the resources, time, and tolerance to raise a young pup successfully. Training, time, social opportunities is the key for Barron to be the best adult dog he can be. He is a fabulous and stunning German Shepherd.
Adoption is $450.00 and includes his neuter, rabies, bordetella, DHPP, de worming treatment, applied flea treatment for the month, and a chip. He comes with a two week, post adoption trial.

Please fill out an on line application at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then e-mail at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com to make an meet and greet apppointment this Saturday in Elk Grove.  Barron might be the one! Please note we will adopt to persons over 24 years of age. Barron will not be adopted to an apartment nor a room mate situation.

Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage

Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

About The Dog Spot Rescue & Rehabilitation Center

About Our Rescue Group...

They come from overwhelmed, overcrowded shelters, owners in crisis, neglectful situations, or simply abandoned to fend for themselves. Our mission is to eliminate the need for euthanasia, as a means of controlling the overpopulation of dogs, by spaying and neutering and by offering a place for dogs to go where they may rest, recover and be re-homed into a safe nurturing environment.
