Meet Tanner! He's such a sweetie! He was saved two hours before he was sentenced to die at a high-kill shelter along with his brother Prince. We saw his photograph and just couldn't bear to see such a gorgeous pup die for no reason at all. He's obviously been someone's pup. This boy is divine. His talents are looking adorably worried. His indulgence is chewing on chunky bully sticks and searching for the squeaker in stuffed toys. His passion is being cuddled. His obsession is food - well, he'd reword that and say he's a "foodie" but seriously he likes anything that tastes good and he's very treat motivated. His favorite activity is wrestling with his brother, Prince. Tanner is 8 - 10 months old and he currently weighs 40 pounds. He is crate trained and learning to walk nicely on the leash. He's working on not pulling too hard. Tanner's DNA was done with the Mars Wisdom Panel and the results are that Tanner is a Labrador Retriever/ German Shepherd mix with some cattle dog.
Tanner is in private foster care. In order to make arrangements to visit him, please fill out an application to adopt at our website: TexasAnimalGuardians.org - select the Adopt! tab.

About Texas Animal Guardians

About Our Rescue Group...

Texas Animal Guardians Bringing People and Pets Together! We're an all-volunteer foster-based organization geared to reducing the suffering and certain death of shelter animals. We remove "at risk" dogs, puppies, cats and kittens from over-crowded shelters, take responsibility for their medical care, provide foster homes and adopt them out to responsible, loving pet parents.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a facility. However, we make arrangements for potential adopters to meet their future pets at the home of the foster parents. We also have regular adoption days at the Creekside Petsmart in New Braunfels, Texas (315 Creekside Way). We are there on the FIRST & THIRD Saturday of the month from 1-4 PM. If you are interested in meeting one of our available pets please call the foster of the pet you are inquiring about or email us at TAGAdoptionsTeam@gmail.com so that we can help you make arrangements to see the pet you'd like to meet.

Our Adoption Process...

We ask that you fill out our adoption application, then one of our volunteers will contact you and arrange for you to meet the adoptable pet. Adoption fees range in price and include their spay/neuter, age required vaccinations, microchip (and transfer), for puppies over the age of 8 months and adult dogs this includes a heartworm test. Cats/kittens range between $80 to $150; Dogs/puppies $80 to $250.
