Meet Buddy! I’m a 2-3 year old, 58 pound Lab / Catahoula Mix from Arkansas. Where I’m from there are a lot of dogs like me who are simply put out to fend for ourselves. Most of us don’t find people to take care of us. I ride well in the car and I like to sleep on something soft inside or out. I found my way to a home where there were 3 Golden Retrievers (I was looking for a girlfriend). I can be a little shy at first but extremely loyal. I love hanging out and playing with other dogs. I love to run! I love to be petted, loved on and give kisses gingerly. I do alert bark if someone comes on the property. I get along with all dogs, cats and people. I've had all my shots/tests done and I'm completely healthy and vetted now. They have me on flea and tick preventative as well as heartworm preventative. They also had me neutered. I’m a healthy boy. I'm a very handsome guy and my heart is big and I will love my forever family well!

To apply for this rescue, please use this address in a new window - or you can email us directly at We respond to all inquiries within 24 hours so if you do not receive a reply, please check your Spam folder. If a puppy is posted for adoption, they are available unless they are marked pending. Once your application is approved, we require a deposit of $150 (non-refundable) to be paid to hold your puppy. Should the puppy not be available to transport, your deposit is refunded. The balance of the adoption fee is required prior to your transport date. Our Adoption Fee is $425 total including deposit and helps to reimburse for the vet care we have provided. It also includes transport by a USDA licensed transporter. We only use direct transports to reduce the length of time our rescues are on the road to their new homes. If you reside in a mandated quarantine State (MA & NH) you must comply with your States requirement of placing your new pup in a licensed quarantine for the period required by law for your State. Quarantine states usually require a 2 night stay in a licensed facility. This is required by law in some states and has nothing to do with our rescue. We work with a licensed
quarantine facility in each state that requires it. These costs are not included in the adoption fee and usually run about $100 (NH) & $120 (MA). All of our rescues are fully vetted to include ~ Spay/Neuter with exam and including blood work if needed and by a full service Veterinarian, all vaccinations including bordatella and rabies, multiple wormings with Drontal Plus, monthly heart worm and flea/tick preventatives and microchipping. The puppies are fostered in Little Rock, Arkansas and are transported to their adoptive home once vetted and age appropriate. This rescue is available for transport after 11/7/16. About For Dogs Sake

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, volunteer organized and run dog rescue. We work with shelters and rescue groups in AR & AL to find homes for their locally unwanted, but highly loveable puppies and dogs. The pups and dogs are brought to New England on transport once their vaccinations are up to date for travel. We are always in need of foster homes for our pups; the more we have, the more pups can be saved.

Courtesy post: FDSR has chosen to help select other rescue groups with exposure in hopes that their dogs may have a better chance for placement. FDSR only lists the dogs and their bio information as is it presented to us. We are not involved with the approval or adoption of these animals; that is done through the other rescue groups. Know that a decline from that group does not mean that other rescues (including FDSR) would decline a subsequent application for adoption of one of our pups, as each group has their own set of criteria for approval.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Appointments can be made to visit some pups at their foster homes at mutually convenient times for adopters and foster parents. (The pups are up for a visit anytime!)

Our Adoption Process...

We require the potential adopter to fill out an application form and tell us about what life would be like as a puppy at your house. The address to the adoption form can be found in the pups' bio. Once the application is received, we will check your references and then contact you for an informal "phone interview." If it is mutually determined to be a good match, an adoption contract is sent via email. Our adoption fee is stated in their bios, and is due at the time of adoption. A signed and dated adoption contract is due at puppy pick up.
