Onyx and her brothers came to us after their owner, who had gotten them on Craigslist as small kittens, decided he didn''t have time for them anymore. Her owner told us that Onyx was very shy with people, but loved other cats. Unfortunately, her brothers are no longer at the shelter and she is waiting patiently to find her perfect match. She prefers the company of other cats and would most likely be happiest going to a home with another cat. (With a slow, proper introduction, of course!)
When she first arrived at the shelter in November she was very hand shy and was scared of people. She has since turned a corner and thanks to our awesome volunteers has learned that people mean pets and treats. She is super flirty and cute in her kennel, rubs her face on everything, baking biscuits and chipring at people that walk by. She is slowly being shown that being picked up by people is safe, but is going to take some convincing. (She''s not quite there yet.) Due to her uneasiness being picked up and carried, she doesn''t get out of her kennel much. Our volunteer team is devoted to teaching her that people are good, but what she really needs is to get adopted!!
Onyx would benefit from a cat savvy, patient owner with a quiet, calm home. Her petite stature and tiny voice is sure to steal your heart.
