~~~~~Laney can climb any and every chain link fence!!!!~~~~~~
Laney and her daughter Lacy came to Furry Kids' from a small Mo shelter where they had been dumped!
Laney is in a foster home with other small dogs and cats. Due to her small size she will require a home with children 10 years old or older. Also a securely wood or iron fenced yard would be best for this active little girl! No fence is also acceptable due to her agility and ability of climbing any height of chain link fence.
Laney is shy when you first meet her and you have to start slow with her.....loving pets, kind words and letting her come to you to be picked up. Within just a hour or less she will jump into your lap and want to be cuddled. Laney just needs reassurance at first to know you are kind and trustworthy.....we can only guess she didn't have this in her past. Once you win her over, she is your best buddy, sitting in your lap, giving you kisses, wanting to be held in your arms so long that she falls asleep. Laney is a sweetie pie who just needs a little patience.
She does great with other dogs of all sizes. Laney has a lot of puppy in her so she might not be so great with a really older, senior dog that will be annoyed with her spunky personality. She does entertain herself when the other dogs in her foster home won't play or she has worn them out. Laney will toss her toys up in the air and pounce on them. She will run after anything that moves in the yard such as a leaf blowing by, a bug hopping around, she tends to find fun where ever she is. Laney has so much charisma that she wins over all humans that meet her.
Laney will for the most part leave the cats in her foster home alone but she wants to play with them so much at times she will give chase when they run. It's not to hurt them and if they turn around to face her she backs away immediately.
Laney has been going outside to potty half the time and uses potty pads that are put down BUT she really needs to be watched when she goes outside to potty because.... number 1.To make sure she goes potty and number 2. Make sure she isn't trying to escape out of the yard because she can squeeze out of small gaps between the gate and post, under gaps at the bottom, etc. She will need a patient family to help make sure she is completely house broke.
She has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
