Facts about Simba - Courtesy Listing

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Tiger Striped
  • Age: Senior
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
This is a courtesy listing.

You will not find another cat like Simba. You can pick him up like a baby and cradle him in your arms for hours. He's a lap cat when you need one, but he's independent when you need to be. Bathing, grooming and trimming nails are very easy with Simba, as he just loves to be touched and close to people. Simba needs a new home because of a recent death in the family and the downsizing of our home. Simba is too often home alone and does not have someone to keep his litter box clean the way that he likes it. Will you give him the home, love and attention that he needs?

Simba is neutered with all shots and is very healthy. He is an indoor cat but likes to go outside on the deck sometimes and sit in the sun with me. Look at the picture and you will see his beautiful green eyes and tiger stripe markings.

Please contact me if you are interested in meeting Simba. I'm sure that you will love him!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is not open to the public and is by appointment only. That's because at OSCAR, one of our highest priorities is the health and well-being of the animals in our care. Unlike city shelters or pounds, whose residents are in place for a short time, as a no-kill shelter, our pets are often with us for weeks, months or even years. The shelter is the only safe place and home they know. When strangers, even well-meaning ones looking to adopt, walk through the shelter, it stresses our animals. We make appointments for potential adopters that submitted applications that have been approved through our process to meet our dogs either in our BarkYard or one of our meeting rooms. We’ll spend as much time as you need and introduce you to as many animals as you’d like to meet in order to make the best match and help you find the perfect new family member!

We hold pet adoption events as much as possible for anyone interested in our animals. It is a great chance for you to come down and meet a bunch of dogs/cats before deciding who is a good fit for you. If you are coming to an adoption event to see a certain dog/cat, please email ahead of time to make sure that dog/cat will be there that day. Please email 1-2 days before the event, as some animals are placed during the week and our list is constantly changing. Individual meet and greets with specific animals are by appointment only.

An approved application must be on file prior to scheduling of a meet and greet.

ADOPTING—For pets near you, check out: or or
Don’t buy while others die. You’re new best friend is closer than you realize.

FOSTERING—You can take a dog or cat into your home for a period of time (1 week to a few months). You take care of them and give them the extra time they need until they find a home of their own. Many animals are very adoptable but are in high-kill shelters where they only have 3 days to find a home. Most just need more time to find their new family. This is a very rewarding experience to know YOU were the reason they are alive.

TRANSPORTING—These volunteer legs (usually 45 minutes to 1 hour each way) are the difference between life and death for most animals. Many shelters down south put to sleep 250 dogs per week. It's unbelievable, but it's true. Many rescues up north have the room and can rescue these dogs; its just a matter of getting people/families to volunteer to drive a leg. Each leg varies according to area, availability of transporters, and rescues. How it works is a coordinator sets up a run sheet that they send out with a route on it, people volunteer for the leg in their area that best fits into their schedule or their hearts. If you would like to volunteer for transport, please email us for more info: Transport is a crucial part of animal rescue and we can always use help. Thank you!

SUPPLY DRIVE—We collect old blankets, towels, sheets; small, medium & large dog collars, leashes; carriers/crates; dog food; dog beds; and monetary donations for vet bills (spay/neuter).

FUNDRAISING—We are always looking for people to help with events and even plan them.

Thousands of animals are saved each month by a network of rescuers who work together.
Please join us and help make a HUGE difference!

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption Process:
1.Fill out an application
2.Meet & Greet
3.Adoption contract & adoption fee

For an application go to:

The adoption process is to first fill out an application. You can go to to fill out the application. Once we call your references and if its a good fit for all, we schedule a meet and greet.

Our dogs/cats are not first come/first serve. We place our dogs/cats with the home that is the best fit for them. Not all animals are good in all homes, whether it’s their personalities, nature, or breed. We base our decision on what’s best for the dog/cat and the family. Thanks for understanding!

Please remember everyone who resides in the home must know about the adoption, and its not a surprise to any member of the family. We need everyone to be on board about adopting. Thank you for understanding.
