Meet Bones. This gorgeous guy is a 2-year-old mixed breed boy. We are guessing that he has black and tan coonhound in him, but his brother doesn't have any tan anywhere. (Check out Jack, also available from our organization). He weighs about 60 pounds and is as sweet as they come. Bones is looking for a new forever home due to a lot of hurdles thrown their family's way in the last year. The next several months will require the family to be gone from home much more often, and they won't be able to care for dogs any longer.

Bones has been raised around a lot of people. He likes to greet neighbors walking by and the garbage man is his buddy. He an be a little reserved in new environments, but he welcomes attention even if he is unsure of his surroundings. Bones has also been raised around children. He has BFF who comes and stays with him for a couple weeks at a time, and Bones loves it. He loves to run and play outside with anyone who will run and play with him, including kids and other dogs. In his current home, Bones hangs out with a friendly cat. Sometimes the cat can be found cuddled up with him.

Bones is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He is crate trained. He has never lived in a house, but has been kept in a garage where he is not kenneled. He was very trustworthy and did well with regular potty breaks. We think he won't have any probably transitioning indoors.

About PawSwaP of Greater Lafayette

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a rescue/ rhoming service that provides education and assistance for owners in our community to keep pets in their home. When that is not an option or we come across animals in need, we will take them into our foster-based program, work with them, seek all necessary vetting, and find them the perfect home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do various adoption events in the community. If you would like to meet one of our available adoptables, please email us!

Our Adoption Process...

The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application on our website. Once we have reviewed the applications, we will contact the potential adopters to arrange a meet and greet. This can take several days depending on the popularity of the animal.
