Bruce's Story...
Bruce is a gentle giant! His size may be a tad intimidating, but you won't find a sweeter boy! Him and his brother, Corky were signed over to us. Their owner passed away and this dynamic pair fell into our lap! These boys are about eight years old, but definitely full of live! They enjoy going out and playing together, sharing a bed whenever they get the chance, and they love snuggle time! Although they adore each other, a home without other dogs and small children would suit them best!

For more information on Bruce, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit us during adoption hours (Tuesday from 11a.m until 7 p.m and Wednesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) Adoption fee for Senior dogs is $150.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bruce, a New Milford Rhodesian Ridgeback/Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Mastiff for sale in New Milford, or seeking a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Mastiff dog from a breeder in New Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rhodesian Ridgeback/Mastiff breeders who help with Rhodesian Ridgeback/Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
