My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tiny Sheba is a loving 12 year old, 15 lb beagle with enormous silky ears. She is a spry and energetic senior and loves to go for a walk, play fetch, play wrestle and chase with other dogs both large and small, and go to the dog park. (She surprised her foster mom by keeping up with the fastest and most energetic young dogs at the dog park!)
Most of all, Sheba loves a nice soft bed and a cuddly blanket. She takes long naps during the day and turns in early. Her favorite thing is to snuggle with a human, preferably on a warm and cozy lap.
Beautiful Sheba is recovering from being thin and malnourished so she feels happiest wearing a coat or sweater on cold days. She is in the process of regrowing her coat along her belly and behind; and the fur on her tail after losing most of it to a flea allergy.
Sheba prefers to eat separately. Because of this Sheba would be a good fit for a family that can be consistent with feeding her in a crate or gated area.
Sheba is currently living with two other female beagles who she loves being with, and is always wanting to cuddle up next to them and trying to get them to play. She is the oldest of the three but has the most youthful spirit.
Sheba is not destructive and just sleeps when left alone. She will aroo or bark if she sees something moving outside, but she’s quiet otherwise. When left alone she will bark repetitively for a short period of time (maybe 10 minutes) and then settle down. She currently has the run of the house but is working on crate training.
Sheba has a lot of life in her and a lot of love to give. She is so happy to be out of the shelter and regrowing her beautiful coat that she wags her tail and is filled with optimistic energy all day long - she will be happy to see you whenever you come home (or whenever you come around the corner)!
