My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE 6/16/17 ADOPTION PENDING! UPDATE 5/23/17 Benjamin's visit with the Internist has given us a diagnosis - he has Chronic Lung Disease, or COPD. His lungs have been taxed for years, making them larger than normal and not as pliable as they should be. We are doing nebulizer treatments to see if the moist air helps, and we've been given a list of tests/procedures the specialist would like to run to see if there's anything he has that can be treated. UPDATE 5/17/17 Ben's cough/congestion has continued, so we have an appointment with an internist on 5/23 to see if they can help us diagnose/treat whatever is keeping him from being healthy. Benjamin is a handsome, 9 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is a former commercial breeder dog that is learning about how wonderful life is in a home. He loves soft beds and getting skritches and being near people. He is getting along great with all the other dogs here, too. Benjamin has been neutered, had all of his tests and dental and vaccinations. Currently we are working on finding the cause of his cough - it was at first thought to be congestive heart failure, but after a few months on the meds with no improvement and another exam, they think he has an airway issue so are treating him with a couple of different antibiotics to see if we can get rid of the possible infection that might be causing his cough. If this doesn't work, we will take him to a specialist for more testing. We are working on housetraining. Benjamin just wants a home where he can hang out and experience the love of a family.
