George's Story...
Sweet George is 6-7 months old, current on all vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative, crate trained, house trained, micro-chipped, wormed, know basic commands, and looking for his forever home. He is very smart and eager to learn . George is a typical young puppy who is very active, charming, lovable, funny, inquisitive and a happy, happy boy. He's very playful and would like a home with another dog of similar age and size and a nice fenced yard in which to explore. His ideal family will be an active single, couple or family with older children who like to walk, run, beach comb and even would be interested in doing Agility with him. He is currently being fostered by a family with 4 other dogs and he's having a joyous time romping and being part of the gang. George is available for immediate adoption so if you are interested, please go to www.greatrescue.org to complete/submit an application. He won't be available long-who can resist that adorable face?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

George, a Jacksonville Labrador Retriever/Basenji puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Basenji for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Basenji puppy from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Basenji breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
