Casey's Story...
Hi there! My name's Casey! I'm a 9 month old rat terrier mix, who would love to be your new best friend! I was recently brought to the shelter by my owner, who could no longer care for me. He said I jump too much, but what can I say.....I'm just an excited little girl!

Prior to being adopted I will be up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and will also have a microchip. I would do well in a home with kids, but we're not sure what I think of other dogs and cats yet. All I know is that I sure do hope someone will give me a nice home where I can stay forever and ever! Does that sound like a plan to you?? The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit me!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Casey, a Youngwood Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
