Loony Luna describes this girl perfectly! They don't come much happier or goofier than this one! Luna is looking for a family that is active and will include her in runs or hiking. She has a lot of energy, but once that energy is expended Luna wants to relax and snore (sometimes loudly) next to her human...Luna has come a long way in the acceptance of other dogs, but there have been a few dogs that Luna has just not cared to be around. She has been able to interact and even play with dogs of all sizes. She is NOT good with dominant dogs or barky, in your face dogs. We do not let toys or treats into playgroup because she wants them all. She had some issues with food guarding but has come a long way with this! She enjoys her play time with some dogs, but would be just fine as an only dog. In fact, she has been known to push a ball around her room for hours by herself.
She loves, loves, loves people and the fact they can scratch her belly over and over. Luna will do best in a home without small children because of her tendency to pretend she is a bowling ball and her inability to stop on a dime :) Luna is very strong and knows what she can get away with. She needs a strong leader who will set rules and boundaries and ensure she follows. She knows to sit and wait until given approval before she can eat or take a snack. She wants to please.
She has a high prey drive and if she focuses on something it’s hard to break that concentration. Although she has been doing really well on redirection, she still has issues in that regard. No cats! I would say no tiny dogs either, just to be safe. She has also been known to crawl over a six foot kennel and go visit the receptionists at the vet clinic :) very talented!

Age:  4 years

Weight: 60 lbs.

About Last Hope K9 Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We set up private meetings because all of our dogs are in foster homes. Please email to schedule a meeting with one of our dogs!
