Khloe is a white and brown older Chihuahua. She was brought in as a owner surrender due to owner not having the time to take care of her. Owner stated she has some skin issues that would need to be checked frequently according to owner.
Around strangers, she barks when they are approaching and rarely seeks attention. She has lived with a 4 year old and 7 year old child in the house and is relaxed and playful with them. When playing with adults and children she likes to jump but is gentle. She has never lived with another dog and behavior is unknown with other dogs. She has lived with a cat and is respectful with the cat. Owner stated she is tolerant with the cat but they don't play together. There is no bite history of a person or animal.
Khloe can be anxious when left alone and will bark and whine at times. During storms if there are loud noises she hides under beds. She isn't bothered when touching food bowl, taking bone or toy out her mouth. She knows the word get down when she's on furniture. When holding her she isn’t bothered. She is friendly with bathing and brushing of coat. Owner is unknown of behavior with trimming nails. She barks with unfamiliar approached to house or family member.
Previous owner described her as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy, excitable, fearful and anxious. Her activity level is medium. When owner is home she tends to stay in her favorite spot on the bed. She is not a fan of toys but likes tugging for a bit. She eats dry food blue buffalo. She is never left alone in the yard and never left alone in the house for long periods of time. She has been crate trained but needs to work on those skills. She knows stay and come. For exercise she likes to go running. On the leash, she doesn't pull and off leash shell wander but come when called.
Khloe allowed all handling and let counselor pick her up. She responds to her name and was jumping on counselor. She allowed collaring and taking intake photo.
