We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from CCHS, you have to complete an online application at http://www.collincountyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application.html and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
Maddie is a great dog who was rescued from the Greenville shelter where she was a staff favorite and was quickly running out of time. She is a mix of a lot things, possibly including some chocolate Labrador retriever and Vizsla.
Maddie is a beautiful chocolate brown color and is a great size weighing around 40 pounds. The vet estimates that she is between 3-4 years old. She is friendly, playful, and good with other dogs and children. Maddie is housetrained and learned how to use the dog door on her first day at her foster house. She knows how to sit, shake, and is generally very good on a leash although she occasionally wants to chase squirrels. Maddie will also occasionally dart out of open doors so she will require special attention for that and will also require a secure fence. She could also use some training for basic commands. She is great on walks, in the car, and at the kids' soccer games. Her favorite things are to snuggle on the couch and play in the yard. Maddie is very social and would do best in a home with other dogs or kids. In her perfect home, she will get lots of love and plenty of exercise.
Maddie is heartworm negative and has been spayed. To meet this sweet girl, please complete an online application through: www.legacyhumanesociety.org.
