My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chunky is now available for adoption! He is 6-year-old, 18lb Jack/Chi and just a little love bug. He is learning to dog with my 2 Jacks, and plays well with others who will let him think that all activities are his idea. He loves his walks, car rides, and loves all people. He can be guarded when meeting new dogs and with the community toy bin which I have been working diligently. He now trusts that myself and my other 2 Jacks won’t take anything away from him like what happened to him in his past, and he is much more relaxed. He isn’t much on hanging outside or exerting himself any more than he has to, so a not so active lifestyle would suit him perfectly. He would like nothing better than to cuddle up to you on the sofa, your lap, or under the covers. He is a really, really good boy so please do not kennel him or leave him outside too long by himself. He just can’t handle it. It was told to me that in his previous life he was known to be a bit of a Houdini when left outside with his own Jack thoughts. I have not found that to be true. He seems to be afraid of the dark, doesn’t like to be cold, and wants back in as soon as he does his business. He will hang out during daylight as long as he has company. He just wants to be near his person! He is extremely smart and knows exactly what is expected of him, and of course in true Jack form he will test you at times. If you want a lap dog, back or neck warmer Chunky is the boy for you!
