Sarah's Story...
Meet Sarah! She has had a rough start to her 2 year old life. It appears as though she may have suffered from an injury of her back left leg which has caused arthritis to set in. She doesn't seem to let it slow her down. She has begun the slow kill hw treatment (which 4 PAWS will continue after adoption). She loves other dogs, is crate trained and is good with kids.

If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at We verify the care of past/current pets. Our goal is to have the very best home for all our dogs and cats and therefore we reserve the right to approve or deny an application based on what we determine is in the pet's best interest.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sarah, a Hayes Dachshund/Feist dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Feist for sale in Hayes, or seeking a Dachshund/Feist dog from a breeder in Hayes.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hayes already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hayes breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Feist breeders who help with Dachshund/Feist rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hayes paves the way for another one to be saved.
