Facts about Poe

  • Breed: Redbone Coonhound Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Poe and his brother Rondo were born on New Year's Day 2016. They have been at a shelter their whole lives until I got them a month ago. They did not even know what I squeaky toy was or how to play when I first brought them home. They are doing great walking on a leash. They will sit on command. They both are very good about coming when called and do not run off. They LOVE playing with squeaky toys now and especially their duck! These boys have come a long way and would be excellent family pets. They are a bit cautious and will probably take a little work to adapt to city life with cars and traffic noises. They play well with other dogs. They are fully vaccinated and neutered. I would love to keep them together so if you have room for two dogs, please let me know!

About Dirt Road Rescues - VT Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

First and foremost, I am an animal lover and think they all deserve a loving home. I live in a rural area and find abandoned animals often or low income families that need help with pet overpopulation. I find homes for puppies and pay for spay/neuter of parents with the puppy adoption fees. I also help local shelters when they are at maximum capacity, which is often. Rescued pets are by far the most loving and loyal, and I want them all to experience being a pampered pet!

Come Meet Our Pets...

I will be happy to share video and photos of pets with potential adopters. All animals are in foster care.

Our Adoption Process...

All animals are checked by a veterinarian before being listed to determine they are in good health.

I have an application that must be completed by potential adopters. I must obtain information to speak to your veterinarian for current animal records. If you are a new pet owner, I will require three references, one being your employer.

Once the application is approved, transportation options will be discussed.
