Hi, I'm Tyrone and I'm now a 2-month old brown tabby kitten. I came to the shelter with my brother, Kadin, when we were just a week old. We have been growing up at the shelter and are now ready for adoption. I'm still a little shy, but I know when I get in a home of my own with a loving family that I will relax and enjoy all my new life has to offer. Let's get some kitty toys to play with, and maybe some treats. I'm ready for my new life and ready for you to be in it!!

About Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are an animal shelter that cares for approximately 1,000 animals per year. We work with Mahaska County and the City of Oskaloosa, IA to provide animal control services and we also work through the Mahaska Humane Society to educate and promote responsible pet ownership as well as low cost spay/neuter services for low income pet owners.

Come Meet Our Pets...

The public can visit our adoptable pets at the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter any time during normal business hours. We are open to the public Tuesday-Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-4pm.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters must complete a pre-adoption application in which questions regarding responsible pet ownership are asked. Once approved the adopter is allowed to adopt and must pay an adoption fee which varies based on the age and species of the animal being adopted. At the time of adoption the adopter must sign an adoption contract. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
