Rocky's Story...
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. Meet this pet by contacting or call 619-466-9137.

Rocky is an adorable chihuahua puppy born around June of 2016. He had a tough start to his little life and almost died from pneumonia and other issues. We were contacted by a veterinarian to see if we would take him and nurture him back to health. We named him Rocky Balboa as he is a real fighter. Rocky has recovered from his illness and has blossomed into the most adorable, curious puppy. He seems to love everybody!

We suggest a home with children over the age of 10 for this dog. This dog cannot be adopted out of state. Please see our home page for a list of our Saturday adoption sites. Every potential adopter is required to fill out an adoption application and the dog is placed in the home that would be most suitable for the dog. We do not place our dogs in homes with unfenced swimming pools. Generally we don't release the dogs at the adoption site that day except on occasion to former adopters.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email or call 619-466-9137.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Vista Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Vista, or seeking a Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
