Saffron is the spiciest of the spice colony. With cousins Anise and Carob, Saffron rules the roost--and she is not the oldest! If one of the others does something she does not like (or if she thinks they are doing something), she will let them know. It happens most often during canned food time. Saffron is a force with which to be reckoned. Little but mighty!!

Saffron is also the life of the party, so to speak. She will play with every toy at least once and find new ways to do so. She is always first to come to her foster mom, even when playing, and loves human attention as well as cuddling with foster siblings. She also gets into EVERYTHING, so should not go to a home with young children or where there are lots of things that could be broken. One of her favorite activities is jumping onto your back from across the room. Sometimes, it is because she wants to ride around attached to your neck. Other times, it is to use you as a spring board to get someplace else. You can see Saffron playing with some of the others in the following videos:   Saffron and best friend/cousin, Carob, are playing in the box. They have so much fun, and you have a chance to see Saffron's face and Carob's beautiful markings! They are about 7 and 7.5 months in the video.    Saffron is rubbing herself on the carpet  by her foster mom.   Carob is on top of kitty tree with Saffron in the middle, then down they come. Carob runs down and up the stairs with Neesi at the bottom of the stairs. You can also see their older foster brother, Sundance, overseeing the play.    At the beginning, you will see Saffron run up stairs and into the living room, then back out as Carob runs in. Neesi will come from behind a chair and you can hear her trill. Bess then follows Neesi out and stands looking around.   Carob plays with Saffron. Then we see Sundance watching them. Neesi and Bess go by the birdcage. Then kitties are running! And back up the tree after seeing Sundance again.

Saffron is very loving and needs her people time as well as her playing with other kitties time. She is not a kitten we would recommend as a single cat or pet. Actually, she and Carob are very close and we would like to see at least the two of them go to their forever home together. If your heart is big enough for three, Anise would make an awesome addition to the pair. Their personalities are so different, it is amazing. Carob is more laid back compared to Saffron's incessant curiosity constantly leading her into new situations. But Saffron is an absolute delight.

It is our mission to 1) help people keep their pets through guidance, non-monetary support, and education, 2) provide a service to find the perfect home for homeless, transient, and transitional domestic animals, and 3) provide a limited foster home structure for abandoned domestic animals.

Our Adoption Process...

A potential adopter must complete an application. It will be sent to the Board of Directors for approval. Upon approval, a home visit is done (either with or without the animal(s)). If all goes well, the animal will stay at the home. There is a two-week probationary period where either the adoptive parents or the foster parents can determine the animal should not stay. If this happens during the two weeks, adoption fees are returned. At the time of the adoption, a contract is signed. The adopter is given a full medical history, microchip information, etc. If applicable, a microchip transfer fee will be attained. The adoption fee for a kitten is $75. Any additional kitten is $25. A cat (1 - 6 years) is $40. Additional cat (1 - 6 years) is $20. Senior cats (7 and above) are $20. Puppies (up to 1 year) are $250. Dogs (1 - 6 years) are $150. Senior dogs (7 and above) are $100. Tax of 5% will be added to all adoptions within the state of Wisconsin.
