AUSTIN HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING. Austin is a gorgeous 2-3 year-old Great Pyrenees/Collie mix male with an outstanding disposition to match his good looks. This poor guy tested positive for heartworms at a rural county dog shelter making it unlikely that he would be able to find a new home there. Fortunately, we were contacted for help so he made the trip to Canine Lifeline to get the lifesaving treatment that he needed. Austin went through heartworm treatment in early April and just tested negative at his 6-7 month post-treatment retest so he is now heartworm-free. Austin was adopted from us last May but recently returned as his owner developed some health problems that prevented her from being able to continue to care for him. Austin gets along great with other dogs and is as kind and gentle as they come. He lived with three small dogs in his adoptive home and was wonderful with them. He’s also been great with dogs of all sizes in his foster home. He is crate-trained and likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee that he won’t have accidents as he adjusts to a new environment. Austin is a little shy and unsure of himself in new situations but it doesn’t take him long to warm up and start giving out kisses. He walks quite well on a leash for a big guy. Austin weighs about 85 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Austin. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.

About Canine Lifeline

About Our Rescue Group...

Canine Lifeline is an all volunteer 501(c)3 organization with a mission to save adoptable dogs from being euthanized at shelters due to overcrowding or treatable medical conditions such as heartworm. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout northeast Ohio.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Canine Lifeline takes adoptable dogs to Petco in Macedonia most Sunday's. We also participate in many adoption events throughout the summer months. Please check our website at www.caninelifeline.org for the most current adoption event listing.

Our Adoption Process...

All Canine Lifeline dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations including a one-year rabies, and are on monthly heartworm preventative. In the warmer months of the year, our dogs are also on a flea and tick preventative. The adoption fee for dogs 7 months up to 7 years of age is $200. Senior dogs may be adopted for a reduced fee of $125. Puppies 6 months and under are $275. Since all of our dogs come from shelters and have been stray or abandoned at least once in their lives, we want to make sure that their next home is for keeps. That’s why each adoption comes with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a perfect match before the adoption is finalized.
