A Little Bit About Me

Fernando is a really sweet little guy. He is looking for a quiet home with a somewhat set routine. He likes people most of all, and needs a perky little walk a few times a day. He has much to offer a calm home where he can be a big part of the family. He'd enjoy sitting on the sofa with you in the evening or next to you in a big old armchair.

Fernando gets startled easily by quick movements, such as those made by children. At his age he deserves a peaceful home without children. Some older grandchildren or neighborhood kids could visit if they are VERY well mannered and respectful of him. They should not pick him up, but he might be happy with them gently petting him. Otherwise he should be in a different room than the children.

He can probably live well with a small to medium sized canine companion; he's not so comfortable with larger dogs, even if they are mellow. It might help him feel secure to have a four legged companion when you are gone from the home.

Fernando has a great look with his white masked face. He is intelligent and would love to learn from you in Small Dog Classes. Come meet him; he may be your new best friend!

About North Bay Canine Rescue & Placement

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
