Pickles is a 3 year old female boxer mix sweetheart that was saved by our rescue literally in the nick of time. The upstate shelter where Pickles was located was overcrowded and she was within 48 hours of being Put To Death. Our volunteers arranged for her freedom ride in early September and soon after she was transported to her foster home in Summerville.
In her foster home, Pickles has flourished. She gained needed healthy weight, after arriving to the rescue at a mere 38 pounds. She has been spayed, brought up to date on all her vaccinations and put on HW and flea medications. Her foster mom says she is crate trained and knows great home manners. We would recommend a home with no small animals as she does get agitated by small fast moving animals (possibly due to her limited vision at this time). Pickles has a bubbly personality and knows no strangers! She is currently living with three large dogs in her foster home and loves her toys and being cared for daily.
Pickles is perfect in every way, however her eyes were covered with cataracts. Her foster family worked hard and raised the money for Pickles cataracts removal surgery. On 11/1/2016, Pickles received the gift of her site ! She has been recovering well and her next appointment is in December. Her surgeon is so pleased with her progress.
