Hunter's Story...
Hunter #16-544. Arrived 9/27/2016 at 7-8 years old.
Hunter is a gentle sweet boy. He came to us as a stray, and we really wish that we knew what his history was. Since coming to us Hunter has been adopted twice and returned twice. Hunter worries about being left alone in the house and has shown some anxiety. He needs a home where he has someone willing to work with this issue. Hunter will also try to escape the yard if he is left unattended. Hunter does get along well with the other small to medium size dogs here at the shelter. It is possible that his past was spent with other dogs and he may have been used to living as part of a "pack". Hunter walks well on a leash and he is very easy going. Hunter loves attention and he is very willing to hang out with his people for one on one time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hunter, a West Babylon Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in West Babylon, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in West Babylon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Babylon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Babylon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Babylon paves the way for another one to be saved.
