  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less

Gypsy Rosalee, affectionately called Gypsy, is a 10 pound, pure bred Affenpinscher with cropped ears and tail. She was born October 20, 2008, making her a very young 8 years old.

Gypsy is the lap-sittingest—kiss givingest—naptime cuddlingest—bed hoggingest little Affenpinscher it has every been my pleasure to meet. She is a true companion dog and wants to be with every where you are.

Gypsy would like to have a fenced yard. She does need a securely fenced yard and an owner committed to going outside with her to keep her safe. She is crate trained for riding in the car. However, she does not like to be crated at night and really wants to sleep with you. She has been OK crated for short errand runs, but no long hours. She would prefer someone who works from home, can take her to work with them, or someone who is home most of the time.

Gypsy has an adorable personality, likes everyone (even cats, but no small children), is happy all the time, just the perfect all around doggie girly. If you lean over and hold out your hands, she comes running to you and jumps into your arms. AND she is absolutely gorgeous with her big dark eyes and shiny black coat.

She is housebroken and potty pad trained. She has no accidents if given enough trips outside. Gypsy is up to date on her vaccinations, heart-worm negative, has been spayed and given a clean bill of health. She is currently on a combination heart-worm/flea medication. We are taking applications now.

We do not ship our dogs. Adopter does have to travel to the foster home to pick up the dog. We never place dogs with electric or invisible fence. Pet doors are OK if they are closed and locked while the family is gone and at night.

About American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance, Inc - AR

About Our Rescue Group...

ABGRA (American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance) & AAR (American Affenpinscher Rescue) is a non-profit national rescue group founded to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Brussels Griffons and Affenpinschers. We strive to leave no Griff or Affen behind and rescue these breeds from commercial breeding facilities and city/county shelters when foster home space is available. We also accept owner surrendered Griffs and Affens. We are an all foster home based rescue that provides complete vetting for our dogs prior to adoption.

American Brussels Griffon Rescue Alliance Inc. (ABGRA) and American Affenpinscher Rescue (AAR) came into being to meet the needs of the Brussels Griffons and Affenpinschers who are abandoned, might be abandoned, or whose circumstances we can improve.
We are especially mindful of the Griffs and Affens that have spent their lives in commercial breeding facilities and who will have a chance at a better life through our efforts. We also rescue both breeds from animal shelters and accept owner surrendered Griffs and Affens.
ABGRA, & our subsidiary AAR, is a non-profit national rescue group.

All adoptions go through our website-
We do not have a kennel facility and place all of our Griffons and Affens by application. All of our rescued dogs are living in foster homes where public viewing is not possible.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption donations are from $200 - $350 and reflect the vetting costs incured for each dog as well as some dogs whose costs far exceed the donation.
We interview all references provided and require a home visit before placements. An adoption contract is required. If the dog is returned within 30 days, a refund will be issued. ABGRA requires adopters be 25 years old, or older, and are looking for stable permanent adoptors. In most cases, these breeds are not recommened for families with young children or for people who are not home for long periods of time. They are the perfect pet for someone who can take their dog to work with them, work from home, or are retired.
