Zen's Story...

Meet Zen. Zen is little ball of energy and love. We believe she is a Schnauzer/Terrier cross and about a year old. She learned the dog door and potty trained to it in less than a week which should tell you how very smart this little girl is ( and how awesome her foster is. 😉) She also crate trained with a minimum of effort. Because she is so young, Zen is a bit precocious and likes to run, run, run and will run out of the front door and down the street in her happiness to be alive. That could be why she was found as a stray by the local shelter. She will need someone with patience who is willing to put in the time to train her as she is high energy and, did we mention, smart? Zen will truly be worth your time as she loves, loves, loves her humans! If you would like to make ZEN part of your family, please fill out an application online at and include her name at the top.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zen, a Tijeras Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
