Westley's Story...
Westley is a rowdy Plott Hound mix looking for his forever home. He will need a super active and adventure-loving family to keep up with his energetic personality. He will need more than just walks around the block everyday; running, hiking, playing ball and maybe even some swimming will need to be a regular part of Westley's schedule. He will need an adult-only home with dog experience. He is far too jumpy and mouthy for kids, and would likely terrorize cats or small dogs. He can be a bit overwhelming to other dogs, so any potential canine friends will need to meet him before an adoption can be finalized. Positive reward-based obedience classes will be mandatory for Westley's adopter. These will help him learn some much needed manners. If you are looking for a goofy, lovable boy who's always on the go, please fill out an adoption application at the front desk.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Westley, a Bellingham Plott Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Plott Hound for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Plott Hound dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Plott Hound breeders who help with Plott Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
