Cute little Bandit is our first Hurricane Matthew survivor that we rescued from a shelter in South Carolina. He was picked up after the storm, having been lost and abandoned in the flooded streets. We think he's perhaps a beagle/doxie mix who weighs 23 lbs and is the cutest little guy ever. He's curious, full of energy, well socialized and loves to play with his fur buddies. Once he's expended his energy, he loves snuggling up with his special person. He's crate and house trained, neutered, he's up to date on his shots and microchipped. Bandit is now looking for his forever home, so please callus if you would like an introduction.

About Rescue for North Bay Beagles

About Our Rescue Group...

Rescue for North Bay Beagles was begun in 2015 by Pamela Rosenthal, a passionate advocate for animals and especially those in need of rescue. Beagles are known for their loving, trusting and people pleasing personalities, but because of their compliant nature, they are also the breed most used by laboratories for research. Many of these dogs never have an opportunity for a happy life outside the lab, but some fortunate ones are rescued and find loving homes. This was the motivation for the start of North Bay Beagles. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit 501c3 and we are supported 100% by contributions from generous and compassionate dog lovers.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our dogs live with foster families in Sonoma County. Meet ups are therefore arranged by appointment only, through Pamela at (707)360-7539. Since home checks are a required part of the adoption process, we are currently only serving the north bay counties, Sonoma, Napa, Marin and Solano.

Our Adoption Process...

To search for adoptive families, our dogs are posted on our website and Facebook page as soon as they have received necessary medical care. When interest in a beagle is initiated, we request that the "adopt application" on the website be completed and submitted. A thorough interview is conducted to ensure that the adopters are able to provide a safe and loving forever home. We arrange for the family to meet with the dog and if a decision is made to adopt, the dog is taken home for a two week trial period. The donation to adopt a dog is $325.00. If it does not work out within the two week period, the donation is reimbursed. We require a signed "Adoption Contract" to finalize the adoption.
