Chunk's Story...
Check out Chunk! He's an adorable senior Pug/Beagle mix that arrived from Holmes County in Amish Country. He was a breeding dog whose services were no longer wanted and was going to be euthanized. Chunk is a wonderful dog that may need some training. He truly enjoys human companionship. Please give Chunk the loving home he has never had and deserves. He will be super grateful to finally be in a home. Several of his buddies have been adopted and are doing great in their new homes. This little fellow is getting a break away from the shelter and is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting Chunk please call the shelter at 440-322-4321 to set up an appointment to meet him.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chunk, a Elyria Pug/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Beagle for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Pug/Beagle dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Beagle breeders who help with Pug/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
