Foster Home Feedback

11/28/16: If you want a dog that will snuggle and cuddle with you, Julian is your man!!  Snuggling with his humans is one of his most favorite things! He also enjoys walks and running around the backyard. Julian does well with other calm dogs, but he does not really get along with super energetic or dominant dogs.
Julian sleeps on a dog bed or in an old wing back chair in our bedroom at night, but if you let him, he would love to snuggle and sleep with you in your bed.  During the day, Julian is kenneled; he is not a fan of his kennel, so this is something a new home would want to work on with Julian.  Julian has a very calm demeanor, so I think that he would do just fine around children.  Occasionally Julian can be a little nervous about doing new things, but with patience and guidance (and maybe some treats), he warms right up and is happy.
Julian was cat-tested and was a little interested in the cat.  However, we think that if he was in a home with a cat, the novelty would wear off after a few days and he'd likely be just fine to coexist with a feline friend.
Julian keeps asking his foster parents if he gets to go to his furever home, and they tell him to be patient.  Is your home the final stop for this snuggly wigglebutt Julian?!  He hopes so!

11/18/16 Volunteer Feedback: My boyfriend and I decided to take Julian for an afternoon kennel break and he was such a ham. He didn't make a peep in the 3 hours we had him. He rode like a gentleman in our car - just sitting and enjoying the scenery pass by as we drove. On our walk around the neighborhood, we passed by a few apartments that had dogs barking through the patio door. He would pull slightly but redirected very well. As we walked past homes that had dogs more visible and vocal he would not bark. A quick redirect across the street was all that was needed to keep him calm.
We did sit around at a park to enjoy the day and Julian just wanted to snuggle and be with people. He has such a calm demeanor!

11/14/16: Julian is a very sweet and mellow dog. He loves human attention and is gentle when receiving it. He rides well in a car and is very responsive to positive reinforcement training. He already knows “Sit” and “Down”. At adoption events, he has enjoyed attention from people of all ages (men, women, and children). So far it seems that Julian would do best in a home with no other dogs or another mellow, calm dog. If you are looking to adopt a dog who will enjoy walks with you and then cuddle with you on a couch, please consider adopting Julian.

Our Adoption Process...

There is a pre-adoption application, reference check, and home visit required prior to adopting an animal. There is an adoption donation/fee applied to all dogs. This fee ranges from $100-150. These fees help cover the veterinary care we have provided for the animals while they wait for homes. The fee also helps pay for the food and other general care we provide for the dogs. You must be 21 yrs or older to adopt a dog and can not live in a an area where there are dog breed bans. We do adopt to homes outside on the area, but there are special requirements for out of state adopters.
