Greetings hoomans! My name is Susan! They say the name Susan brings love and new starts into life! What a wonderful coincidence since I am looking for my new start with a forever home!
I’m sure you want to know a little bit about me and as things would have it I am learning things about myself. See, I spent a long time in a shelter. My owners never came for me so I was picked up by the Mobile Mutts Rescue to find the perfect home for me! I am a sweet as pie 50-pound girl and they tell me I’m a Shepherd/Lab mix and around one-years-old. I’m not sure what that means, all I know is I’m a dog and I LOVE people! I’m still learning how to be a dog, since being in the shelter didn’t give me much time to do things other dogs do. But I’m making up for it in my foster home!
I enjoy the company of meeting other dogs as long as we shake paws first. I’m told by sources close to me that I have high energy and some dogs aren’t fond of that, so I might need help reigning myself in. (Remember I’m only a year old) I also like to be fed by myself, I don’t want any paws taking my food! I would prefer to be the only dog in your house. That way I get ALL the cuddles, food, toys and treats I want and you get ALL my attention when I’m not pre-occupied with afore mentioned things. I’ve never been around kitty cats before so I’m not sure if we would get along or not, but I do love people! Come and pet and love on me all day is my motto! Oh did I mention that I have totally nailed that “going potty only outside thing”?
I’m so excited to start my forever with a wonderful family to call my own. Dog scouts honor, once you meet me you will love me!

Our Adoption Process...

THE ADOPTION PROCESS; We often hear people in the community complaining that it is "harder" to adopt a rescue dog than it is to adopt a child. i'm not sure that I agree with that analogy, however I do admit that the process of adopting a rescue can be daunting. What you need to keep in mind is this, our furkids have already been through traumatic experiences, they have often been abandoned or abused in the past and we are here to make sure that they never have a "bad day again" and end up alone and frightened or in a shelter ever again. We are their voice and their advocates. We are the front line defending them from those who would hurt them. So, as you move through the adoption process and prepare to open your heart and home to one of our furkids, please remember that although your home may be the best possible home for you, our job is to make sure it's the best possible home for them.

The first step in the process is to complete a non-binding adoption application at: https://secure.jotformpro.com/Patty4Rescues/adoptionapp and let us know which of our dogs you are interested in meeting; The Application is the first step in Adopting one of our dogs, but does not guarantee adoption.

You will work with an adoption coordinator who is often a member of the foster family to complete the approval process and if approved, we will begin to transition the furkid to your home! We encourage having a "sleep over"with your new family member prior to completing the adoption process, just to make sure you are right for each other. Please remember, we are committed to making this a smooth transition for our furkids, and for you!
