already spayed, housetrained, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
I am already spayed, housetrained, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Izzie is a sweet 6-year old girl who has been with her family since she was a wee puppy. She loves people and is affectionate and friendly with humans new and old to her. Izzie would rather be the only dog in her home, though, and is currently living with another dog who requires some special care. Izzie's people were faced with a difficult decision in needing to rehome one of their two dogs, and although they are heartbroken over it, they have made the difficult decision to help Izzie thrive in a new home where she can be the only pet.
Izzie likes to jump and play, so would do best in a home with children age 13 and up. Otherwise, the only requirement she has is a home where she will be the only pet (no other dogs or cats) for the rest of her days so she need not share the spotlight. She is crate trained and house trained, and has also done obedience training and has a lot of great skills for her new family.
Izzie's family wants what is best for her and is working hard to make sure her new family will give her the life she needs and deserves. This is why DC PAWS is helping them to find that family.
This is a courtesy listing by DC PAWS on behalf of Izzie and her family. Izzie's adoption contract will be directly between her new adopters and the family rehoming her, but we are working to assist with matchmaking and adopter screening as needed. If you are interested in adopting Izzie, you can complete a DC PAWS online adoption application or email email@example.com with questions.
If you are interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application at http://dcpawsrescue.org/adoption-info/

About DC PAWS Rescue

Our rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based dog and cat rescue in the DC area. We partner with a local rescuer in Pickens County, SC, who saves adoptable cats and dogs from the county’s animal control facility, which lacks the resources to facilitate adoptions to the public. Without a mechanism for local adoptions, all animals not claimed within the mandated hold period are euthanized. For the animals in this rural area, rescue is really the only lifeline. Our rescue partner not only works with DC PAWS to save as many dogs and cats as possible, but she has also established a successful spay/neuter clinic in the community to decrease the number of homeless and unwanted animals over the long term.

BE A FOSTER:

Fosters make it possible for DC PAWS to save and care for homeless, neglected and abandoned animals!
BE A SPONSOR:

For any of our animals! Sponsors help us provide critical medical care, food, boarding and other support for animals facing euthanasia. Individuals who sponsor a dog or cat receive special recognition on the animal's profile. Sponsorships can also be made in honor or memory of a loved one, and you may designate to whom DC Paws Rescue should provide notice of your gift.
To learn more about sponsorship, please visit:http://dcpawsrescue.org/donate/

DC PAWS Rescue was formed to serve the interests of animals through activities such as animal rescue; providing sanctuary for abused animals; public education concerning the needs of animals in shelters, positive-reinforcement training for animals; placement of rescued animals in adoptive homes, and other related charitable activities.
Come Meet Our Pets...
At Adoption events listed on our website: http://dcpawsrescue.org/events/ and at foster homes, once an adoption application has been submitted and approved.
Please note that we are an all-volunteer organization and while it is our goal to respond to all emails we receive, we may not be able to do so due to the large volume of emails we receive. We recommend reviewing the animal's profile on our website and then submitting an adoption application as a first step. Thank you for considering adoption and DC PAWS Rescue!
