Rain's Story...
Rain here and ready for adventure. I am a sweet, lovable and curious puppy. My sibling Forest and I have traveled a long way from Puerto Rico here to find a family to call my own. I love toys, treats and getting attention from you. By looking at me folks guess I have a lot of labrador in my family tree and that I will be large size when done growing because I weigh in at about 26 pounds at 4 months old. I am looking forward to walks around the block, playing in the park, snuggling on the couch and just sharing the day-to-day with you! Have time for a puppy? Time to attend obedience classes and visit with lots of people and other friendly dogs to help me be well rounded and socialized like a young puppy should? Then come in today!

Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information please PHONE the shelter (978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk) instead of sending emails.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rain, a Gloucester Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
