Trick's Story...
Happy, goofy and lovable are all words the folks here have used to describe me! My name is Trick and I am a rescue dog from down south. I don't quite know what my breed mix is but take one look at me and you can see I look just like a Treeing Walker Coonhound. I am considered special needs because I recently had a Femoral Head Ostectomy surgery to correct some old trauma to my hip. I have recovered well and I can get around just fine. I am a friendly guy and I enjoy the company of just about anyone I meet. I have quite a bit of energy and love to spend my time walking on the trails or playing in the play yards. So do you think I could be a good match for you? Then come down and meet me today!

Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! www.capeannanimalaid.org 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trick, a Gloucester Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
