JAKE's Story...
JAKE is sweet as pie and smart as a whip too! On top of being smart and sweet, he is very handsome! JAKE is such a loving, people pleaser. He is happiest curled up on the couch, hanging with his people. He likes to play but is not hyper and likes to lope around the yard more than run. JAKE is around a year old. He is not a fan of the kennel but does very well hanging out in the house. He is housetrained and crate trained. He plays with his toys but does not usually bother other stuff around the house. He has been sleeping happily on the couch at his foster home at night and when it is time to go to sleep he gets up on his couch, gathers his favorite toys and snuggles down for his night. This goofy boy is longing for a family to call his own and can’t wait to be able to go on walks or play or just hang out with his family. JAKE is a wonderful pup that is excited to find his forever family! HIS MANNERS ARE perfect!

All of our pets start their journey in Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted at which time they travel via transport to their new forever home. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England adoptions ( and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters.
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Blues City is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

About Blues City Animal Rescue - Memphis Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a non profit animal rescue group that tries to save as many dogs as possible from euthanasia at high kill shelters in the Mid South area and place them in loving forever homes. All Blues City dogs are kept in foster homes until they are adopted. We can only save more dogs if we have more fosters. They are the most crucial part of the rescue organization.

Come Meet Our Pets...

***Shelby Farms Dog a Roo.*** Saturday May 10th 10am- 2pm at Shebly Farms off leash dog park.

Fosters are AlWAYS desperately needed. Fostering is an incredibly rewarding experience. Please contact us if you are interested in helping!

Our Adoption Process...

The first step to adopting a family member from Blues City is completing and submitting an adoption application. We respect your time, so we will review it within 24 hours and get in contact with you. This process will take longer on weekends and holidays because part of the review process is calling your vet's office for references.
Once your application is approved, we can move forward on getting your new family member home to you. Adoption fees can be paid securely by putting the money in our pay pal account. All of your payment information will be kept private from Blues City.
Often a home visit is required. We can schedule a home visit at a convenient time. Some times home visits can be done at the same time as delivery of your new pet.
Thank you for choosing to consider adopting from Blues City. Every time you adopt a pet from us 3 lives are saved. The life of the pet you adopt, plus the life of another pet we can adopt from shelter because a foster spot has opened up, PLUS the life of another animal who doesn't have to be euthanized because a kennel opens up at the shelter.
