If you're that amazing person we've been searching for who's looking for the ultimate in bonded pairs, we have two amazing dogs for you. Yogi - an affectionate, outgoing, super-social black and white snugglebug - and his BFF, Bruno - a darling, slightly more timid but equally affectionate cuddler - are so hopeful to find a forever after together. We know it might be a longshot, but if you've never met a bonded pair who are amazing together, you have to meet these two. Yogi is a dog that we pulled from a public shelter in 2013. From the get-go, Yogi loved everyone he met no matter age, size or gender. He also loves every single solitary dog and cat he meets. In fact, you take him to a dog park and his favorite part is walking around and greeting every person there! He's beyond a phenomenal dog and it quickly became apparent that his foster mom felt the same. She adopted him and ever since, Yogi has been a foster ambassador to every new dog and cat who's come into the home. He helps to show them the ropes and is always a gentleman. Bruno, a new foster dog, joined the home in the spring of 2016 and the bond was instantaneous. These two are bonded at the hip! They are blessed with the same gentle disposition and where Bruno is more on the shy side with new people, Yogi helps him to feel safe and trust. These two share toys, often forsake one crate for the comfort of sharing one together, and comically, often sit on one another! Recently, Yogi's mom has found that her free time is limited and she'd like Yogi to have a more active home. What Yogi and Bruno would seem to love is a home together. Both dogs love to go for car rides and hikes and walks. They're happy to hang around the house, too, and play with their toys or snuggle up with you. Both are phenomenal around cats and other dogs. Ideally we're looking for an adult home with a person or persons who enjoys outdoor activities and has a yard where these two buddies can run around. Yogi is 6 years of age Bruno is 2 years of age. Both are neutered, microchipped and current on their vaccines. If by chance you're that rare home looking for a bonded pair of extremely gentle, affectionate, loving dogs to give the happiest of lives to, please consider these two! Location: Foster Home

About Contra Costa Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Contra Costa Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that operates such programs as Adoptions, Kitty Corner, Spay/Neuter Assistance, and AniMeals. We are not affiliated with any other rescue organization, humane society or spca.

Our mission is to empower our community to improve the quality of life for animals and decrease euthanasia rates. Through our programs and services, we connect with individuals and private and public organizations to adopt pets, reduce the number of unwanted animals, and educate the public to foster compassion, responsibility and respect towards animals.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our business office and Kitty Corner are located at 171 Mayhew Way, Suite 101 in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.

Kitty Corner houses adult, senior, and special-needs cats (sometimes teenage kittens). Kitty Corner is open for adoptions on Saturday, Sunday & Monday from 12-3pm or during the week (preferably by appointment to make sure someone's available to show you the cats).

All of our dogs, puppies and kittens are located off-site in foster homes and can be met by appointment once adoption applications have been received and approved.

Our Adoption Process...

CCHS has animals available for adoption through a number of different avenues. Many of our kittens and all dogs are cared for in loving foster homes until they are adopted. Teenage, adult, senior and special-needs cats reside at Kitty Corner, an on-site, private cat shelter where cats are allowed to free-roam at all times, lounge in sunny windows and on comfy cat towers, and play to their heart's galore. Similarly, we also have animals available for adoption through our Re-Homing Assistance Program, where we help to advertise animals that caregivers are no longer able to keep.

If you are interested in meeting any of the animals listed on our website, please complete an adoption application unless otherwise noted!

Adoption fees are:
Kittens under 6mo: $130 ($200 for two)
Cats over 6mo: $90 ($150 for two)
Puppies under 6mo: $225
