Buck's Story...
Just look at that handsome face! Buck is a wonderful dog with a big personality. He loves to run around in the yards, here at the shelter, and he has quiet the voice! This long-legged stunner has been friendly to all and seems to do well with other dogs, but a meet and greet is required before he goes home. Buck is an active boy who will need plenty of mental and physical stimulation to stay happy and healthy. Come take this charming boy home with you, today! about 4 years old

Buck is heartworm positive and will need to be treated, which includes 30 days of cage-rest/leash-walking only. He can make a full recovery, if treated. We are looking for a rescue or foster home (perhaps foster-to-adopt.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buck, a Martinsville Black and Tan Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Black and Tan Coonhound for sale in Martinsville, or seeking a Black and Tan Coonhound dog from a breeder in Martinsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Martinsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Martinsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Black and Tan Coonhound breeders who help with Black and Tan Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Martinsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
