Hello, everyone, how do you do? My name’s Brutus, and I’m a kindly, good ol’ boy 12 years of age.

As it happens, this isn’t my first time turning to BHRSC for help. I was adopted by a good family five years ago and thought that home would be where I’d live out the rest of my days, but after some tough life changes my family and I agreed that the best thing for me would be to seek out new accommodations. I was successful doing this once before, and I have no doubt I will be again!

As a senior hound, I don’t ask for too much these days. I still appreciate a nice, leisurely stroll now and then, but for the most part I like to stay close to home — and more importantly, close to my favorite people. You might say I’m a lap dog! There’s nothing I love more than just cozying up for some pats or a belly rub or even just a snooze.

When you need a little space, though, I can certainly oblige. In my last home I quite enjoyed wandering the big backyard on my own, or with my people’s supervision, wandering next door to say hello to our neighbors. I get along with pretty much everyone, even cats. I’m an easygoing kind of guy! I have excellent manners, too, and will gladly come, sit, stay, and lie down when asked.

All I really need is some good company! Do you have love pats and belly rubs to spare? If so, wouldja mind sharing them with me? I sure would be grateful!

Brutus is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $150.

About Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California

About Our Rescue Group...

Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California (BHRSC) offers sanctuary, healing and forever families to distressed, abandoned, injured or homeless hounds.

The hounds we rescue are placed in foster homes (or boarded, if no foster homes are available). We seek loving homes where they will spend their remaining years cuddling, eating, drooling, resting, playing, and socializing with people and other family pets.

We work to raise funds to save as many hounds as possible and constantly thrive to grow our network of volunteers and foster homes.

BHRSC takes in more than 100 hounds per year! With the down economy many families are losing their homes and having to relinquish their hounds. Shelters are full and rescues across the country are suffering. Many are overflowing and unable to take in hounds while others are closing their doors completely. Your support is more important than ever during this tough time.
