Skeeter's Story...
Hi there! I'm Skeeter, a buff-colored guy with tabby swirls. I'm about 5-6 months old, but only weigh in at four pounds, which means I'm probably going to be a small guy when I reach adulthood. I don't keep my svelte, boyish figure because I run around and play a lot, although I sure love to have fun running around and playing! I was the smallest of the many kittens in the barn and I ended up not getting as much nutrition as I should. And my kinked tail? I broke it in several places and it healed this way. Luckily, the caretaker of the barn brought me to where I could get the medical attention and extra food I needed and now I'm healthy and happy and show my gratitude by purring at everyone who pets me. I'm neutered, up-to-date on shots and microchipped. If you'd like to be charmed by me, call/text 502-758-4054 or email jojohsoc@aol.com. You can find an adoption application on humanesocietyoldhamcounty.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skeeter, a LaGrange Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in LaGrange, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in LaGrange.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in LaGrange already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a LaGrange breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in LaGrange paves the way for another one to be saved.
