Mako's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Mako's Story...
Mako is a 4 year old, 16 pound female black and tan Shiba Inu who was adopted initially from a shelter into a family; unfortunately, when the family moved they were forced to give her back to the shelter. DCSIR was contacted due to Mako’s obvious eye issues; she was diagnosed with severe glaucoma, leading to surgery to remove one eye. The other eye can be managed with eye drops, and we anticipate that with appropriate medical care she will retain sight in it for some time.
Mako is available for adoption to an extended area (VA, DC. MD, NY, NJ, PA, WV, SC, NC, DE). She is UTD on vaccinations, 4Dx snap, microchipped and has had full dental. Mako gets along with friendly male dogs, and cats. She is a very sweet dog and loves going on walks and is not at all limited by her limited vision.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mako, a Manassas Shiba Inu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu for sale in Manassas, or seeking a Shiba Inu dog from a breeder in Manassas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manassas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manassas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu breeders who help with Shiba Inu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manassas paves the way for another one to be saved.
