MORE INFO ABOUT ME:

Hi Friends! My name is Leah (aka Roxy), I am 8ish yrs old and weigh 55 lbs. I will begin by saying that if you are looking for a laid back (in the house), playful (outside), obedient, and loving gal then you have just saved yourself a ton of time because you wont have to look any further!! My foster Mom says that I am about the best gal she has met. I am crate trained, love kids and other dogs (don't know about cats), do not jump on furniture, walk great on a leash and LOVE me a nice Sunday car ride!! I am very well behaved when we go to the dog park and mind my manners with everyone (both 2 and 4 legged). I have been fostered with 3 other big dogs and 2 small ones and we all get along famously. One of my favorite things to do is lay in the yard and watch my foster Mom and Dad as they rake leaves and work in the outside. Since I'm such a good girl I always get a nice treat once we all go inside!! When I have to go potty I will kinda "tap dance" and nudge my foster mom to let her know it's "that time". And when I've had my fill of excitement, I head on over to my condo (commonly known as a crate) and curl up for a nice quiet nap. I may be 8 yrs old but i still have tons of love and happiness to share with a family. The great news with us "well seasoned" doggies is that we are waaaay past that chewing stage, housetraining is more of a breeze, no unnecsaary jumping on people, etc I guess you could say that we are more into that.....what you see is what you get stage!! From what I hear, us older dogs are kinda like some of you older humans....we get better, wiser and more relaxed with age!! So, if you are looking for a walking buddy, awesome co pilot, toasty foot warmer, and loving/constant companion take a few minutes to fill out that application!! love, leah

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LEAH**8 years young!!, a Mentor Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Mentor, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Mentor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mentor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mentor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mentor paves the way for another one to be saved.
