My Life Was Spent in a Puppy Mill!
Paula was born about October 24, 2010 and weighs about 13 lbs. She has spent her life in a cage in a puppy mill and is so excited, and amazed, to walk on grass! She is having a blast here and loves the other dogs. We do still have to "catch" her, but when we look her way she wiggles and wags her tail so she should be almost normal in a reasonable amount of time. A puppy mill dog often does better with another dog in his next life - a normal dog. The normal dog will teach the puppy mill dog how to act in the world. As far as puppy mill fear goes this girl is minor. We want to mention that these small dogs often do better with a potty floor pad available and if you are interested in rescuing a mill dog we'd like to have you go to our website and read the "Working with Mill Dog Notes". www.joyfulrescues.org This little cutie has had her first dental, but the mill dogs teeth are SO bad when they come in that another one may be needed in the near future. Adopting a mill dog is a special kindness as it will take many months or, even, years before the dog truly shows love toward you. But, when that moment happens you see it in their eyes and it will take your breath away! We ADORE this little girl, she has blossomed! Paula came to us with a white eye. It was previously damaged and received no care. We did have the eye removed and there was no adjustment since she was already used to not having it see. Poor little thing!
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $275.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
