Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

Hey guys, my name is Disney. I am a very sweet pup and I love to be with my foster parents. They call me their 'Disney Princess'. I enjoy long naps on the couch, if you put a blanket or bed down on the floor for me I will move it by myself to be closer to you while I rest. I promise I don't potty in the house, I also walk like the elegant princess that I am on my leash. I will sleep in a crate if you wish however, I prefer to be in bed with you, under the covers by your feet. I get along with my fosters 7 cats (even though some of them don't like me so much). I also get along with all but one of my foster parents doggies. If you have another dog I think it would be best to do proper introductions first. I am very gentle with my stuffed toys and will play fetch if you throw them for me. I need Grain free food. Food with grain makes me itch and a princess like me cannot be scratching all the time. I love to go on car rides. Sometimes when my foster mommy gets her keys out I think I'm going with her and will run down to the car and wait to be let in. When she tells me to come back in I get a little sad, but I know that some places are not suitable for Disney Princess's like myself. If you would like a little piece of royalty in your home please apply for me at HSWCTN.org I look forward to meeting you, until then I'll be in my foster parents bed, under the covers.

About Humane Society of Washington County

About Our Rescue Group...

The Humane Society of Washington County was primarily an organization that provided spay and neuter funding for low income families. Spay and neutering is still at the front of our organization but we have also incorporated fostering and adoptions of animals. We are committed to see our community to become a no kill community. Our organization is not funded by local government, we rely only on spay neuter grants and fund raising. We have grown tremendously in the last year with over 100 dogs in foster care. Our cat program began in November of 2014 and is expanding into a feral program. We have 35 cats in our program and have located barns in our area that will let us place feral cats if individuals do not want them returned to their neighborhoods. We continually fund those in need of spay or neuter as well as all animals prior to adoption are spayed or neutered. To continue to grow, we need donations for our programs and those links are available on our website under giving. We also need volunteers. The volunteer application is also available on our website. Working together we will become a no kill community.
