*FEE WAIVED - in foster* SIMBA's Story...
Meet Simba! This gorgeous girl has been with us for quite some time and just has not been adjusting well at all. She spent the last 10 years with someone who truly loved her, but when he became too sick to care for her and her brother any longer, they had no where to go but here. Since Simba's brother got adopted, she feels very alone, scared and has been very shut down. During the day, she hides in her carrier or under blankets. Only at night, or when noone is around, does she come out to eat, drink and do her business. Simba so desperately needs to find someone she can trust again. Do you have room in your heart and home to consider fostering or fostering-to-adopt this frightened girl? If you or someone you know is interested, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or email us at info@dehumane.org. Please spread the word so she can go from living in a carrier to a life in a home again. Thank you!

SIMBA'S ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED WITH APPROVED APPLICATION! She is currently in foster, but is still looking for her forever home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

*FEE WAIVED - in foster* SIMBA, a Wilmington Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
