Thea's Story...
This dear girl with the little spotty white patch on her chest is Thea, a 5 year old who was an owner surrender from Georgia. Miss Thea was way too interested in making a meal of the cats in the home so she was sent away. Thea has also been a mommy. She weighs about 65 pounds. Thea is finishing up her treatments for heart worms but should be ready very soon to meet you! She came in with some fine smarts and knows a nice "sit" and "down" and understands "leave it". She does like to display her advance counter-surfing skills but does take firm correction well. Thea has a young active mind and enjoys playing with a Kong "Wubba" toy and will chase a tennis ball with great joy but then is not sure (in classic Dobie fashion) what to do with it next. She will pull the fuzz off a tennis ball if she had her say in this! Our say rules so we do not let that go far. Thea needs some polishing on her leash skills but we think Miss Thea is a loving and smart girl that just needs a little training in order to be a well behaved member of a household. Because we do not hear enough about her history with children we ask that only homes with older children, at least 10 years and up consider our girl. We have not tested her around other dogs yet. Obedience training classes with her new owner(s) would be an excellent way to get your new family member oriented to her new life with you.She would make an excellent pet for someone who would like a friend and buddy that would make a fuss if the doorbell rang; she has a very good bark. A home with a moderate sized fenced yard and modest activity level would be a nice fit.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thea, a New Richmond Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in New Richmond, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in New Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
