Lucille's Story...
Lucille was brought into a high kill shelter with her sister where we were told they had lived outside all there life. They were scared when they first arrived but came around with the ladies that volunteer there. Lucille is so beautiful and loves her foster mum, she is a bit scared of her foster dad and we think might have been mistreated by a man. With the right patient family we don't see this being any problem. She is fully vetted meaning fixed, current on all shots, heart worm negative, micro chipped and on monthly prevention. She looks to be about 3 years old and is about 25lbs. She needs to gain a few more pounds which we are working on. She is in a foster home with 10 other dogs and will growl at them from time to time, never starts a fight just does not want them in her face. She loves to play with an 8lbs male Chihuahua mix.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucille, a Ashburn Basset Hound/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Beagle for sale in Ashburn, or seeking a Basset Hound/Beagle dog from a breeder in Ashburn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ashburn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ashburn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Beagle breeders who help with Basset Hound/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ashburn paves the way for another one to be saved.
