Spike's Story...
This face just speaks to you...it speaks of a life completely turned upside down after 10 years. Spike was surrendered to animal control when the only family he has ever known could no longer care for him. Spike is healthy and gentle and extremely sweet. He is an AKC registered pure cocker spaniel who has no idea why he is in such a scary, noisy place. Please adopt Spike! Apply at www.polkadogz.org

Adoption fee: $200 which includes vaccinations, neuter and microchip. Adoption fees help all the dogs in our rescue with major medical needs. Thank you. Spike is 26 lbs, 10 years old with no known healthy problems, just lonely and lost.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spike, a Oakland Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
